United Target Speaks Out Amid Claims That He’s Agreed Personal Terms Ahead Of 18M Move

Porto left-back Alex Telles has refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The Brazilian is said to be on the market for €20m (£18m), with the player within the final year of his contract, and asked about his future following Porto’s 3-1 win over Braga at the weekend, the defender said he is focused on his football:

“I’m a guy who focuses a lot on work. People believe what they want, say what they want in the newspapers, but the most important thing is to be focused on my work. You know that and so do my teammates, whatever happens, I’m focused on the club, I’m here, I’m playing.”

Reports in Portugal claim Telles has already agreed a five-year contract, worth €4m (£3.67m) a season but those claims have since been dismissed by local media sources in Manchester.

There are, however, reliable journalists such as the Guardian‘s Fabrizio Romano who do say that United are interested in the 27-year-old, but they are also considering a move for another unnamed left-back.

Telles’s performance against Braga would have certainly impressed interested teams, though, having scored two goals and provided one assist in the season opener on Saturday night.
