United Target Sensational Striker Move

Manchester United’s plans to sign a new striker this summer may well have taken a sensational turn, after the latest round of reports this week suggests that the club could be chasing the signature of one of the best strikers in the world.

The bookmakers have also slashed the odds on the striker moving to Old Trafford, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s odds of joining Manchester United as short as 3/1 as the Swede’s PSG career remains under the spotlight.

United are in for a striker this summer after the departure of Robin van Persie and Falcao, and speculation linking Ibra with the club has grown in the last few days. The 33-year-old recently spoke out about his PSG future, but only fuelled the rumour by admitting his future lies in the hands of his agent.

“Should I stay in Paris? My future is in the hands of Mino Raiola.”

“I do not have another plan, but things can change from one day to another,” he said.

“I cannot say much now, but I belong to PSG and we will continue like that. But the older I get, the more I have to think differently about choosing a club.”

Should Manchester United go in for Ibrahimovic, the striker would cost just £4 million or so due to his age. At 33, Ibrahimovic is at an age where you’d expect a player to slowly decline in ability, but anyone who knows the Swede knows that age is simply a number with one of the world’s best strikers.

There’s no doubt if United signed the hit-man they’d be favourites to challenge Chelsea for the title.
