United Table £12.5m Bid For 16 Year Old But Face Battle Against Premier League Rival

Manchester United have made a bid for Birmingham City’s Jude Bellingham, according to the Mirror. The newspaper claims the Red Devils have proposed an offer that could reach £12.5m after add-ons.

The midfielder is only 16 years of age but he has already made 24 appearances for Pep Clotet’s side this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

United are not the only team interested in Bellingham, however, with the Mirror reporting that one other Premier League club has also tabled a bid for the teenager.

The England Under 17 international only made his senior debut against Portsmouth in the first round of the Carabao Cup in early August but his performances have clearly impressed United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have been focusing on bringing in young homegrown talent to the club, with Daniel James having been snapped up for £15m from Swansea in the summer.

It would be a huge outlay on someone so young, though, if they do snap up Bellingham this month.
