United Star ‘Willing’ To Leave Old Trafford Following Broken Promise From Solskjaer

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is “willing” to leave the club on loan when the January transfer window opens, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The local newspaper claims that the 23-year-old was promised by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he would start both Champions League group games against Istanbul Basaksehir.

However, Henderson only started the 2-1 defeat in Turkey, while David De Gea was named in goal for the return fixture at Old Trafford last month, leaving the England international unhappy with his situation.

The keeper was also thought to be in line to start the league game versus West Brom but that did not materialise either, so he is keen on a loan move for the second half of the season.

One of the main motivations for Henderson is the chance of being named in England’s squad for the European Championships next summer. He is very much aware that his international chances will be adversely affected if he is not playing. Whether United will give in to his demands, it remains to be seen.
