United star to quit club this summer if Mourinho stays

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is to quit the club this summer if Jose Mourinho remains as manager, according to reports.

Rashford is understood to have been frustrated at being left out of the starting line-up for the weekend’s Manchester Derby, being limited to only an eight minute cameo in a 3-2 victory for Mourinho’s side.

And his exclusion may have been the final straw in what has been a frustrating few months for the Englishman.

Rashford has seen his playing time dramatically deteriorate since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez is January.

Prior to the Chilean’s move from Arsenal on January 22nd, Rashford played a total of 1310 Premier League minutes for United, however since, he has been limited to less than two full games – a measly 156 minutes.

So frustrated is the 20-year-old at his lack of game time, it is reported he will consider leaving his boyhood club at the end of the season if Mourinho stays in charge.

A United source told the Mirror: “Marcus was really unhappy with being left out for the derby. If Mourinho is still there next season, Marcus might not be, as he wants to start every game.”

Rashford has had to play second fiddle to Alexis Sanchez since the Chilean’s arrival at Old Trafford.

Mourinho has come under criticism for his limited use of Rashford who emerged onto the scene as a teenager two seasons ago, however the Portuguese manager has previously insisted he is happy with the youngster’s role at the club.

“I try to give the best to him.” Mourinho said speaking earlier in the season, “If you go to his numbers and see how many matches he played last season and this with me, I would say he’s in the top five players with matches in the two seasons.”
