United Star ‘Open To Offers’ From Other Clubs In January

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is “open to offers” from other teams after the club delayed in offering him a new contract, according to Metro.co.uk.

The Spaniard’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and he will be free to discuss terms with foreign clubs in January.

Herrera wants to stay with United, but there has been very little progress made on extending his time at Old Trafford. The Manchester club triggered an option to extend his deal by an extra 12 months in November last year but there has been no new proposal since then.

The 29-year-old joined from Athletic Bilbao for £30.7m back in 2014, and he has gone on to make 163 appearances for United.

However, he has featured far less regularly so far this campaign, restricted to one start at centre-half in the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham, and appearing as a substitute, replacing Jesse Lingard with 15 minutes to go, against Burnley at the weekend.

Marouane Fellaini’s contract was allowed to run down last season before he agreed a deal. It will be interesting to see if a similar thing happens with Herrera.
