United Set To Snub Oblak As They Target £40m Replacement For De Gea

Manchester United have decided not to pursue Jan Oblak despite being aware of the Slovenian’s interest in moving to Old Trafford, according to the Independent.

The Atletico Madrid goalkeeper is said to be open to a move away from the Spanish club this summer and is a boyhood United supporter.

However, United are not willing to trigger Oblak’s £100m release clause and have identified a different option if they have to replace current number one David De Gea.

Ajax shot-stopper Andre Onana is believed to be the club’s priority signing. The Cameroon international could be signed for £40m and would allow United to use more of their transfer budget on other areas of the pitch.

The Red Devils are currently focused on signing Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka. They have already had a bid rejected for the 21-year-old and the Eagles could demand as much as £60m for the defender.
