United Set To ‘Fight’ Arsenal And Two Other Clubs For 51.5M La Liga Defender

Manchester United have been joined by the likes of Arsenal, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde, according to El Gol Digital.

The Spanish website claims that multiple clubs have entered the “fight” to snap up the 22-year-old after Sevilla dropped their asking price by a third from €90m (£77m) to €60m (£51.5m).

Such a figure would certainly make Kounde a very attractive option for United, who were already interested in the Frenchman before Sevilla reportedly decided to reduce their demands.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be very keen to strengthen his options in the centre of defence, with a new partner for Harry Maguire believed to be a main priority for the summer transfer window.

Kounde is certainly a different type of defender to Maguire, with the France Under 21 international shorter at 5ft 10 but offering a good deal more pace than his prospective centre-back partner.
