United Set To Break Attendance Record As Old Trafford Prepares To Welcome Aston Villa

Manchester United Women will smash their record attendance when they take on Aston Villa at Old Trafford this weekend.

The current record for a United Women’s fixture stands at 20,241, which was set when the side played their first game at the Theatre of Dreams back in March versus Everton.

However, it is believed the Manchester club have already sold in excess of 30,000 tickets for the Villa game on Saturday afternoon.

Marc Skinner’s team have defied expectations after making an extremely strong start to the season, having won six of their seven Women’s Super League fixtures so far.

Their only defeat came against reigning champions Chelsea early last month but they got back to winning ways when they won 3-2 against Arsenal last time out.

It was a close run thing, though, with the Reds needing two late strikes from Millie Turner and Alessia Russo to help secure an unlikely three points.
