United Set To Battle City In January For £60m Rated Portuguese Playmaker

Manchester United will join Manchester City in the battle to sign Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, according to reports.

The 21-year-old is said to be rated at £60m by his current club and City boss Pep Guardiola is believed to be keen to sign the Portuguese star in the January transfer window after missing out on Jorginho in the summer.

United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly kept an eye on Neves but wanted to see how the midfielder coped in the Premier League before making a bid at the end of the season.

However, if City do make their offer in January as planned, it would force their Manchester rivals to also enter the bidding.

Neves was integral to Wolves’ promotion to the Premier League last campaign, scoring six goals and providing one assist in 42 Championship games.

This season, the Portuguese international has already scored once and provided an assist in the 2-2 draw against Everton on the opening day.
