United Send Scouts To Watch Phillip Kohn In Action After Recommendation From Rangnick

Manchester United have identified Red Bull Salzburg goalkeeper Philipp Kohn as a potential replacement for Dean Henderson, according to Blue News Sport.

The Swiss website claims that the Red Devils sent scouts to watch Kohn in action three weeks ago when Salzburg faced Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16 tie.

Interim boss Ralf Rangnick has strong connections with the Red Bull group, after previously working as their Head of Football Development, and it is assumed that United’s interest in Kohn has been instigated by the German.

With Henderson expected to leave on loan or on a permanent basis in the summer, a new backup for David De Gea will be needed and it seems that Kohn is the favourite for the role at the moment.

The Swiss shot-stopper is only 23 years of age, and he has yet to make his debut for his national team at senior level, but he is a player with potential.
