United Send Scouts To See ‘Next Pirlo’ In Action But Face Competition For His Signature

Manchester United had scouts in the stands as Brescia played Bologna yesterday, according to Calciomercato.com. The Italian website reports the Red Devils were watching Sandro Tonali.

The 19-year-old, described as the ‘next Andrea Pirlo’ by numerous news outlets, has been on the radar of a number of clubs. It is believed representatives from Borussia Dortmund and Ajax were also present as Brescia lost 4-3.

Tonali has yet to get his first cap for Italy but he was named in the senior squad by manager Roberto Mancini last season, despite Brescia having been in the Italian second division at the time.

He made his debut for the Under 21s back in March, and played at the European Under 21 Championships this summer, although he was only used as a substitute.

Tonali has started all four games for Brescia this season, and the newly-promoted Serie A side have had a pretty decent start to the campaign, currently sitting 14th in the table.
