United Release Starlet Who Was Tipped For First Team Breakthough By Scott McTominay Only Last Month

Manchester United have released winger Largie Ramazani, along with eight other academy players, the club have confirmed.

The Belgian Under 19 international was named by Scott McTominay as one of three players that could follow in Mason Greenwood’s footsteps into the first team.

It is believed Ramazani was offered a new contract by the Red Devils but his demands were reportedly higher than the club were willing to pay for someone of his level of ability.

Despite McTominay’s comments, United’s coaching staff were not convinced that he could make the breakthrough into the first-team setup and the decision was made to let him go.

Some reports have suggested that Ramazani could well join a club in Spain’s second division, which may indicate the Belgian is looking for starts in senior football straight away.

The teenager had been performing well for the Under 23s this season, scoring nine goals in 13 appearances, and he was given his debut by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the 2-1 defeat to FC Astana back in November.
