United Preparing To Offload Two Fullbacks Before January Window Closes

Manchester United will look to sell both Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian before the transfer window closes, according to reports in the UK.

Valencia is said to be interesting both Fulham and Newcastle, although the latter are said to be unprepared to pay the Ecuadorian international’s £100,000 a week wages.

The Cottagers look the more likely destination with manager Claudio Ranieri having missed out on Chelsea’s Victor Moses to Fenerbahce.

In Darmian’s case, a move back to Italy has been widely reported although it doesn’t appear like either Juventus or Inter Milan have come back in for the player.

In his press conference today, ahead of tomorrow’s game against Burnley, caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that he doesn’t expect any outgoings before the end of the month.

However, he didn’t completely rule out the possibility with a few days left to go:

“At the moment, I can see everyone staying at the club. Because no deals have been done with anyone, I think, but then again there are still a few more days, but I’m not too involved in the negotiations.”

Valencia and Darmian have hardly featured under Solskjaer with both having started just one match for the Norwegian.
