United Prepared To Trigger Bundesliga Sharpshooter’s £66m Release Clause

United Prepared To Trigger Bundesliga Sharpshooter’s £66m Release Clause

Manchester United and Real Madrid are both prepared to pay Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland’s release clause, according to reports in the English media.

The Norwegian international only joined the Bundesliga side from Red Bull Salzburg for €20m in the January transfer window, but United remain interested in the teenager despite pulling out of the deal for the player only a few months ago.

It is believed the Red Devils were unwilling to include the reported €75m (£66m) buyout fee in his contract, but they could use it to their advantage by triggering the clause this summer.

Whether Haaland is interested in moving clubs after just six months in Germany, it is known, and the presence of Real Madrid in the race will certainly complicate matters.

The 19-year-old has, however, been in superb form since making the switch to Dortmund, having bagged 12 goals in just 11 appearances for the German club.
