United prepare January bid for Spanish star

Manchester United are interested in signing 20-year-old Spanish sensation Carlos Soler during the January transfer window, after he has made a brilliant start to this season’s campaign with Valencia.

The La Liga giants sit second in the table, and Soler’s impact has been there for everyone to see with him scoring one goal and laying off four assists.

The central midfielder is widely considered to be the future of the Spain midfield, and interest from Manchester United is certainly no surprise.

However, the youngster has insisted that he is not letting himself get distracted by speculation linking him with a January move to Old Trafford, saying that he is totally committed to Valencia – whom he has started every game for so far this season in the league.

“You already know it. I’m focused on Valencia,” the Spaniard told Cadena Cope when asked about the interest from United.

“Regarding those things [the interested from Manchester United] I know nothing. It would be foolish to think about those things right now.

“I have to be focused at Valencia. I have a lot of years left [in my contract] and that’s what I have to do.”

Valencia are believed to want a fee of around £40 million for the youngster, a large price for a fairly inexperienced player.

But this is a guy with mighty potential, and perhaps a January bid is on the cards.
