Reguilon, Lindelof And Amrabat To Start, Mount On The Bench: United’s Predicted XI To Play Palace

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag would have been delighted with how his team performed in the 3-0 win against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup midweek.

Despite making a number of changes, the Red Devils made light work of their opponents and, with the two sides playing each other again at Old Trafford in the league on Saturday, United supporters will be hoping for a similar result.

In terms of United’s starting lineup for the match, Andre Onana will keep his place in goal, with Diogo Dalot and Sergio Reguilon expected to be selected in the two fullback positions. That latter missed the cup tie on Tuesday due to illness but he should have had enough time to recover full fitness.

Lisandro Martinez has been sidelined with a troublesome foot injury. The Argentinian international could be out of contention for up to 3 months. Victor Lindelof could, therefore, start alongside Raphael Varane in the centre of defence, with Harry Maguire dropping to the bench.

Ten Hag has some difficult choices to make in midfield. Mason Mount impressed in his 45-minute appearance versus Palace last time out, but so did Sofyan Amrabat and Hannibal Mejbri.

The latter two could line up alongside Casemiro in the middle of the park, allowing Mount to come on as a substitute and make an impact if required.

Ten Hag will also have a selection headache up front after both Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Martial scored midweek. The manager may, though, opt to start Rasmus Hojlund through the middle, with Marcus Rashford playing on the left flank, and captain Bruno Fernandes starting on the right-hand side.
