United Plot January Swoop For Two Players Worth A Combined £176m

Manchester United are looking to sign both Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez and Red Bull Salzburg’s Erling Haaland in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

Niguez has a release clause of €150m (£126m), and combined with the €60m (£50m) that Salzburg are demanding for Haaland, it could cost the Red Devils around £176m to secure both deals.

It is believed that the transfers are still likelier to happen in the summer, but United are keen to move forward with their transfer plans as soon as possible.

The Manchester club currently sit five points off fourth following their recent wins against Tottenham and Manchester City, so new additions could help the team push on in the second half of the season.

United are also interested in signing a second midfielder, as well as Niguez, but their preferred option, Ajax’s Donny van de Beek, is expected to join Real Madrid instead.
