Manchester United Women‘s manager Marc Skinner has won the WSL Manager of the Month award for December.

The Red Devils boss guided his team to a 5-0 win over Aston Villa at the beginning of the month before recording a creditable 1-1 draw versus Manchester City.

United forward Leah Galton made it a double triumph, having picked up the Player of the Month prize, following her performances against Villa and City.

The 28-year-old scored the second in the rout over the Villans, while she also bagged the opener in the derby, taking her total in the league to four this season.

After an excellent December, Skinner and Galton will be keen to carry on that form after the WSL returns from its winter break this weekend.

United will be facing Liverpool at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday afternoon. A victory could help them leapfrog Arsenal into second if the Gunners don’t secure victory in their top of the table clash versus Chelsea.
