United On Alert With Barcelona Star Reportedly Unhappy After Contract Snub

Manchester United could make a move for Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba, according to reports in the English media.

The Spaniard has not been offered a new deal to stay at the Camp Nou despite the player wanting to commit his future to the Catalan club for the long-term.

Alba is said to be very unhappy about the state of affairs with his current contract set to expire in 2020.

The fullback’s situation has come to the attention of United who would be very keen to snap up the 29-year-old.

Luke Shaw has firmly established himself as first-choice on the left-hand side of defence under Jose Mourinho this season, but the Manchester club are said to be keen to strengthen the position.

If Alba was indeed available then a transfer battle would likely ensue between a number of top European clubs. However, it remains to be seen whether Barca will open negotiations over a new deal and end the speculation.
