United On Alert As Serie A Fullback Signals His Intention To Leave Current Club

Manchester United, Chelsea and Juventus are all keen on Napoli fullback Elseid Hysaj, according to reports in Italy.

The Albanian international has signalled his intention to leave the Partenopei saying he needs a new challenge after four years at the Serie A club.

Hysaj even hinted at moving to a new country which could boost United’s chances of sealing a deal for the right-back:

“I’m absolutely ready for a new challenge because I need change. I’m not the type of person who likes to stay at a club for too long.”

“I want to have new experiences, learn about a new country, meet new people, play for another team and maybe try to win something. For me, my time at Napoli is over and I hope to find a team that will give me what I need.”

Juventus’s interest reportedly depends on whether Maurizio Sarri takes over as manager. The Italian has worked with the 25-year-old at Empoli and Napoli and looks to be interested in linking up with the player for a third time.

Chelsea would obviously need to have their transfer ban lifted to pursue Hysaj while it’s likely Sarri is the main driving force behind their previous interest in the player.

United are said to be looking for a right-back this summer but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first choice Aaron Wan-Bissaka could cost as much as £60m so Hysaj could be a cheaper alternative.
