Inter Milan are looking to sell Ivan Perisic for €40m (£35m) during the January transfer window, according to reports in Italy.

The Nerazzurri have already lined up a replacement for the 29-year-old in Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa but they need cash to fund a €70m swoop for the Italian.

It is believed Manchester United and Atletico Madrid would be keen on signing Perisic, who has struggled for form this season.

The 29-year-old has admitted previously that he was close to a move to Old Trafford, but the club’s interest in the winger came when Jose Mourinho was at the club.

With United not looking to appoint a new permanent manager until the summer, it is unlikely that they will look to sign the Croatian international this month.

Inter are apparently on good terms with the Manchester club and are hoping their negotiations for Matteo Darmian may lead to an agreement over Perisic.
