United Now Trailing Premier League Rival In Pursuit Of 35M Rated Championship Ace

Leicester City are now favourites to sign Bournemouth winger David Brooks, according to reports in the local media. Manchester United have been tracking the Wales international for the past nine months but, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prioritising a move for Jadon Sancho, it could mean they will lose out on one of their main alternatives.

It is believed that the player is aware of interest from the Foxes and he is anticipating that Brendan Rodgers’ side will make a formal offer for him before the transfer window shuts at the start of next month.

Brooks’ valuation is reported to be £35m with Bournemouth open to selling the 23-year-old if their asking price is met, as the Cherries look to reduce costs after being relegated to the Championship.

The Welshman would certainly be cheaper to sign than Sancho but, despite Borussia Dortmund holding firm on their €120m (£109m) price tag, United are still confident they will get their man.
