Who did Hojlund beat for the award?
The forward was nominated alongside Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, Manchester City’s Phil Foden, Brighton’s Pascal Gross, Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz, Wolves’ Joao Gomes and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
Out of those players, Saka was the only one who was arguably equally deserving of the accolade, having scored six times for the Gunners in February.

The Dane has not played since the 2-1 win over Luton Town in mid-February due to injury. It was initially estimated that he would be sidelined for three weeks, but manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that he won’t be available for the Everton game this weekend.
Hojlund is set to return for the FA Cup quarter-final clash against Liverpool, which will give the Red Devils a huge boost going into such an important game. He will undoubtedly be keen to carry on from where he left off before his injury.
