United Named Alongside 6 Arsenal Players In WhoScored.com’s Team Of The Week

Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot has made WhoScored’s XI for gameweek 24 in the Premier League.

The Portuguese international was handed an 8.34 rating, having made two tackles, two interceptions, two blocks and five clearances, to go along with his assist for Scott McTominay’s winner against Aston Villa.

Dalot has been criticised for his defensive deficiencies since arriving at Old Trafford but, based on his performance at Villa Park, he appears to be developing into a top class fullback.

The key for the 24-year-old will be to reproduce these sorts of displays in order to keep his place in the starting eleven.

Dalot has had to compete for a place with Aaron Wan-Bissaka but, with the Englishman currently sidelined with injury, the Portuguese star has been making the most of his opportunities.

Who else made it into WhoScored.com’s Team of the Week?

Brentford’s Mads Flekken was chosen in goal, after keeping a clean sheet in the Bees’ 2-0 win over Wolves at the weekend.

In defence, Dalot is joined by Arsenal pair William Saliba and Gabriel, who both scored in the Gunners’ 6-0 rout of West Ham on Sunday afternoon. Fulham’s Antonee Robinson is the other member of the back four.

There are also two Arsenal players in midfield with Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice being joined by Sheffield United’s Vinicius Souza, who impressed in the Blades’ 3-1 win over Luton Town.

Up front, Liverpool winger Luis Diaz was picked, following his goal against Burnley, with Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard making up the rest of the eleven.

Two United stars may feel hard done by

Both Harry Maguire and Rasmus Hojlund would also have been worthy contenders for the XI. The former provided an assist and was commanding in his own box against Villa, while the latter got his fifth goal in his last five league games.

As it is, Arsenal’s thrashing of West Ham seems to have skewed WhoScored’s ratings somewhat, leading to 6 Gunners players being selected.
