‘Never Ending Bad News’ ‘It’s Really No Biggie’ Fans Discuss United’s Star’s Decision That Could See Him Miss 7 Matches

Andre Onana’s decision to come out of international retirement could lead to him missing 7 games for Manchester United at the start of next year.

If Cameroon do qualify for the African Cup of Nations, Onana may be absent for four Premier League fixtures against Tottenham, Wolves, West Ham and Aston Villa as well as potentially three domestic cup matches.

Some supporters on X are frustrated that Onana could be away for so long, while others have pointed out that the club have already signed Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce to provide cover:

Onana’s AFCON participation will be decided next week

Cameroon face Burundi in their last African Cup of Nations qualifier in Garoua on Tuesday.

Whoever wins the game will qualify for the tournament in the Ivory Coast next year.

Bayindir will need to step up the plate

United fans have not seen the Turkish international in action yet, although he will likely get his first appearance for his new club when United take on Crystal Palace in the third round of the Carabao Cup at the end of the month.

Bayindir is pretty experienced, having made 176 appearances in senior football, so it is hoped that he will be up to the task when asked to fill in for Onana.
