‘Well Deserved’ ‘How Is Kobbie Not There?’ Fans React As BBC Pundit Names 1 United Star In His Team Of The Week

BBC pundit Garth Crooks has named Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho in his Premier League Team of the Week.

The Argentine international’s spectacular bicycle kick opened the scoring during the 3-0 win over Everton at the weekend, with Crooks saying it will likely win goal of the season:

“I saw it but I’m not sure I could believe it. The overhead bicycle kick by Alejandro Garnacho for Manchester United against Everton was amazing. The timing and execution of the technique was as good as I’ve seen. It will probably win goal of the season and we are only in November. It was that impressive. ”

Supporters on X were surprised that Garnacho was the only United player selected in Crooks’ team, with some suggesting that both Kobbie Mainoo and Andre Onana were also worthy of inclusion:

Garnacho will probably not score a better goal in his life

The 19-year-old not only struck the ball incredibly sweetly, he hit it from quite a distance away from goal. Yet, it still found its way past Everton’s Jordan Pickford and into the back of the net.

It would be surprising if Garnacho manages to top that goal in his professional career, despite the fact that he is still a teenager.

Who else was selected in Crooks’ Team of the Week?

Manchester City’s Ederson was named in goal, with Crooks picking a three-man defence of Liverpool fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold, Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles and City defender Nathan Ake.

In midfield, Arsenal’s Declan Rice was included alongside West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus, Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon.

Up front, Garnacho is joined by Brighton’s Joao Pedro and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
