United Named As One Of Two Clubs Targeting Serie A Hitman Who Has Scored 7 Goals In His Last 8 Games

Manchester United and Inter Milan could battle it out for Torino striker Andrea Belotti this summer, according to Tuttosport.

The Turin based newspaper says the Italian international’s remarkable form since the restart has attracted the interest of the Red Devils and the Nerazzurri.

Belotti has bagged seven goals in Torino’s eight games since Serie A returned last month, taking his total to 22 in all competitions this campaign.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past but he had suffered a sharp dip in form in recent seasons until this latest purple patch in front of goal.

Belotti’s release clause stands at €100m (£91m); a figure no club is likely to pay. He could well be available for a much lower figure but Tuttosport claim Torino did turn down €40m (£36m) for the player in the January transfer window.

Whether United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would actually need another striker, it is up for debate, but the Italian would offer a different kind of option to what he currently has available to him in the squad.
