Juventus centre-half Merih Demiral could be allowed to leave the Italian club this summer, with Manchester United, Leicester and Everton all interested in the defender, according to reports in Turkey.

The Turkish international, who has also been linked with Arsenal in the past, is said to be available for €40m (£34.5m), with Juve expected to replace him with Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic.

Demiral reportedly favours a team challenging for honours, and that is likely to rule out Everton from the race to sign the 23-year-old, so United will be one of the frontrunners.

However, the Red Devils are also considering a number of other centre-back targets, with Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane, Villarreal’s Pau Torres and Sevilla’s Jules Kounde all being looked at.

Demiral would likely be the cheapest option, though, and that may be a factor if the club’s transfer budget takes a significant hit were they to shell out £81.5m on Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.
