Monaco midfielder Fabinho has admitted that he would be tempted to leave the club in order to join Manchester United.

The 23-year-old has been rumoured to be a target of Jose Mourinho’s United side, who are in the market for a central midfielder to replace the ageing Michael Carrick.

Fabinho is also a competent right back, which is said to be another bargaining point with the transfer as United are bracing themselves for the departure of Darmian to Juventus.

Jose Mourinho is familiar with Fabinho having worked with him at Real Madrid. The Portuguese manager handed him his debut for the Spanish side at the end of the 12/13 season.

Fabinho played a vital role in AS Monaco’s Ligue 1 title victory last season, as well as impressing in the Champions League where his team reached the semi-finals of the competition.
