United May Step In To Sign 34M Liverpool Target Following Concerns That ‘Frustrated’ Defender Will Leave

Manchester United are eyeing potential replacements for Eric Bailly, according to Eurosport. The Ivorian international is believed to be “frustrated” by his lack of game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he could be the subject of a summer bid from Inter Milan.

With Bailly possibly leaving Old Trafford, the Red Devils have already identified four targets who could be snapped up to reinforce their options at centre-back.

Three of them: Jules Kounde, Pau Torres and Raphael Varane have been mentioned extensively before, but Eurosport claim that a move for RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate could also be considered.

The Frenchman has a €40m (£34m) buyout clause in his contract but last week it was reported that Liverpool were in advanced talks to snap up the 21-year-old.

However, manager Jurgen Klopp has yet to give his final go-ahead to the deal, with Ozan Kabak having impressed during his loan spell at the club. The Reds are thought to be only looking to sign one centre-hlf this summer so they will have to choose between the two options.

If they opt for Kabak, it would open up the opportunity for United to step in and sign Konate. It must be pointed out, though, that there are other clubs interested in the defender, including Chelsea and Arsenal.
