United Make First Approach For 35M Rated Dutch Ace Who Has ‘Impressed’ Ten Hag

Manchester United have officially “registered” their interest in PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo, according to ESPN.

The Netherlands international is believed to have “impressed” manager Erik ten Hag during his time at Ajax and he is now keen to bring him to Old Trafford.

With the club having missed out on Benjamin Sesko to RB Leipzig, and a move for Antony proving too expensive, it appears they have found a viable alternative in Gakpo.

The 23-year-old is thought to be available for around £35m, which is unlikely to prove a major stumbling block if the Red Devils do go ahead and make a formal bid for the player.

ESPN do claim, however, that “other Premier League clubs” are interested in Gakpo so United may want to move fast in order to secure his signature. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been linked with the Dutchman over the past few months.
