Manchester United have made an enquiry for Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic, according to Sport. The Catalan based publication reports that the Red Devils and Inter Milan have registered an interest in the Croatian.
Barca are believed to be open to selling the 31-year-old in the January transfer window and have set an asking price of €40m (£35m) for the playmaker.
Until recently, Rakitic was said to be happy to see out his contract at the Spanish champions, with his current deal expiring in 2021. However, the Croatian international is now prepared to leave after seeing his game time restricted this campaign.
The midfielder has made just one start for Barcelona in all competitions, and that came in 2-0 defeat to Granada last month. He was an unused substitute in the 2-1 win over Inter at the start of the month and was only given 20 minutes in his side’s last league game before the international break.
