United Look To Revive Bid For Moyes Target Six Years After Deal Collapsed

Manchester United are one of three clubs interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, according to OK Diario.

The Spanish website claim Bayern Munich are keen on seeing the German return to the Bavarian club while PSG are also vying with United for the 30-year-old.

Kroos is believed to be unhappy with his treatment after being benched by Zinedine Zidane for the Champions League last 16 first leg against Manchester City. That snub, along with the substitution in the subsequent defeat to Real Betis last weekend has reportedly led to the midfielder considering his future.

Although the German international is currently not actively seeking to leave the Bernabeu, his unhappiness has seemingly piqued the interest of United.

Kroos revealed last month he could have made the move to Old Trafford six years ago when David Moyes was still manager, but the Scot’s sacking in April 2014 led to the deal collapsing once Louis van Gaal was appointed:

“David Moyes had come to see me and the contract had basically been done but then Moyes was fired and Louis van Gaal came in, which complicated matters. Louis wanted time to build his own project. I didn’t hear anything from United for a while and started having doubts. Then the World Cup started and Carlo Ancelotti called. And that was it.”
