United Look To Beat Barcelona To French Teenage Sensation With £26m Release Clause

Manchester United are very keen to secure the signing of Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to the Sun. The newspaper reports that the Red Devils will have to face down Barcelona who are also looking to snap up the teenager.

It was reported last week that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were interested in the 17-year-old, along with Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal, but it has now been revealed that the player also has a release clause.

Camavinga can be signed if a bid comes in for €30m (£26m) which is unlikely to put off United. The Frenchman has made 16 appearances for Rennes this season, having scored no goals and contributed just one assist.

Despite being a holding midfielder by trade, he has been compared to Paul Pogba, with the Red Devils star having been consistently linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Whether Camavinga is actually being lined up as a replacement or just as another addition to the squad, we shall have to wait and see.
