United Line Up £30m Senegalese Midfield Enforcer As Herrera Replacement

Manchester United are planning a bid for Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye if Ander Herrera leaves the club, according to reports in the UK.

The Red Devils look set to lose the Spaniard to Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires next summer, and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been looking for replacements.

Coincidentally, Gueye was also a target for PSG in the January transfer window but the French club’s interest in Herrera should allow United to make their move for the Senegalese international.

The 29-year-old could be available for £30m, although Everton could hold out for a lot more with the midfielder a key part of their first team squad.

It is believed Gueye is United’s cheaper option if West Ham make excessive demands for Declan Rice. As reported previously, Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez is also another candidate.

The Spaniard has a release clause of €150m, and like Rice, Atletico could command a very high fee for the player.
