Manchester United are weighing up an approach for Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, according to reports in the English media.

The Argentinian international was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea earlier this summer before the Blues signed Ben Chilwell from Leicester, and it is believed the 28-year-old could be available for around £23m.

Talks for Porto’s Alex Telles are believed to be continuing but it has been reported that the Portuguese club have rejected the chance to take Diogo Dalot as part of the deal.

Telles is in the final year of his contract and it appears United are reluctant to pay what Porto are demanding, which is believed to be very similar to Tagliafico’s valuation.

Having had good dealings with Ajax, and chief executive Edwin van der Sar, over the signing of Donny van de Beek, there is certainly a possibility that they could sign a second player from the Dutch club before the transfer window shuts.
