Manchester United are “leading” a number of Premier League teams in the race for Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu, according to AS.
The 20-year-old, who is also being pursued by Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, has impressed with his performances in La Liga this season, despite only making his league debut back in August.
Valladolid currently sit 15th in the table, but they have only conceded 25 goals in 23 games, which is the sixth-best record in the division.
Much of that is down to the good defensive work done by Salisu, who has been ever-present in the starting line up this campaign, having started 22 league matches.
The Ghanaian reportedly has a release clause of just €12m (£10m), which AS predict will lead to an “intense” battle for the centre-back in the summer. Whether United will be able to fend off the competition for the player’s signature, we shall have to wait and see.
