United Join Spurs In Battle To Sign Midfield Powerhouse Who Could Be Available For Just £27m

Manchester United are one of the teams interested in signing Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to Footmercato.net.

The French website reports that the Frenchman will be sold this summer after his club failed to qualify for the Champions League, with the likes of the Red Devils, Tottenham and a number of other European clubs keen on snapping him up.

Kondogbia does have a release clause of €80m (£73m), after moving from Inter Milan on a permanent basis in 2018, but reports in the UK claim Valencia’s financial problems mean he could be sold for as little as €30m (£27m).

Whether United would need a player of Kondogbia’s ilk, it is up for debate. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already has the likes of Scott McTominay, Fred and Nemanja Matic who can all do a similar job.

Footmercato claim Kondogbia “dreams” of playing in England, but it’s likely that if he does move to the Premier League, it won’t be to Old Trafford.
