Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes is one of four midfielders that Manchester United are considering as potential transfer targets, according to Fichajes.net.

The Spanish rumour mongers report that the Brazilian is being looked at, along with West Ham’s Declan Rice, Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong and Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.

Guimares joined Newcastle from Lyon for £40m in January and he has impressed many with his performances in the Premier League over the last eleven months.

Magpies legend Alan Shearer has been effusive in his praise for the 24-year-old, having described him as a player who “can do it all”.

It should be noted, however, that Guimares is also attracting interest from other Premier League teams. Both Chelsea and Liverpool have been mentioned as possible suitors over the past few weeks.

For their part, Newcastle are keen to keep hold of the midfielder and they are expected to offer him a new contract to reaffirm his commitment to the club.
