United Join Liverpool And Arsenal In Pursuit Of 44.6M Rated Italian Midfield Maestro

Manchester United are one of the teams keeping tabs on Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, according to FCInterNews.it.

The Italian website claims that the Red Devils, along with Liverpool, Arsenal, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have been impressed with the 23-year-old’s start to the season with the Nerazzurri.

Barella has so far contributed four assists in ten appearances for Inter this season, and it seems that the Italian international could well be on United’s radar ahead of the summer.

The midfielder only moved to the San Siro on a permanent basis from Cagliari in September after spending a year on loan with Antonio Conte’s team.

Inter paid an initial €37m (£33m), with another €13m (£11.6m) in add-ons, which could take the fee up to €50m (£44.6m) so Barella would likely command a very high fee. To ward off potential suitors, a new contract for the player is being considered, which would see his salary rise from €2.5m to €4m a season.
