United Join City In Race For £52m Rated Serbian Striking Sensation

Manchester United are the latest club to be linked with Eintracht Frankfurt’s highly-rated young striker Luka Jovic.

Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claims that the Red Devils are one of five teams who have made an enquiry about signing the Serbian.

Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid have also asked about Jovic, with some of these teams having sought to secure a first option on the 21-year-old.

The forward is, in fact, still on loan from Benfica until the summer, and therefore Frankfurt have opted against negotiating the player’s sale until they trigger their purchase option in June.

Once that happens, though, there could be a massive battle to secure Jovic’s signature, with bids expected to reach at least €60m (£52m).

Whether such a fee would deter United from following up their interest, it isn’t known. With the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial already at the club, signing another forward may not be a priority.

However, Jovic’s talent may persuade them to go after the Serbian international. The striker has scored 22 goals in all competitions for Frankfurt this campaign.
