United Interested In £18m Rated Greek International As Potential De Gea Replacement

Manchester United are tracking Benfica goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos, according to Record.

The Red Devils seem to be looking at possible replacements for David De Gea after reports surfaced that the Spaniard has rejected a contract offer from the club.

Vlachodimos is not believed to be top of United’s list of targets, but he has been given a number of glowing reports from scouts this season.

The German-born Greek international only joined Benfica from Panathinaikos last July for €2.43m but could go for ten times that this summer.

Reports in Italy suggest Roma are looking to offer €20m (£18m) for Vlachodimos after having struggled to replace Alisson following his £67m move to Liverpool.

Vlachodimos has been in pretty decent form this season, conceding 30 goals and keeping 15 clean sheets in 34 league games.

The Greek shot-stopper did, however, have a difficult Champions League campaign, conceding five against Bayern Munich, and 11 in total over the six group games.
