Latest United Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford And 8 Others

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Mason Mount will return for this weekend’s game against Burnley.

The summer signing from Chelsea missed the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City and the league fixture versus Sheffield United on Wednesday evening due to a muscular injury.

However, ten Hag says Mount will be back in contention when the Red Devils host the Clarets at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The England international’s first season at the club has been plagued by fitness problems, with the player having only started four league matches.

Expected Return Date – Saturday 27th April v Burnley

Speaking after the victory over Sheffield United, ten Hag said that he doesn’t expect any other players to be back for the Burnley game.

That means the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jonny Evans, Willy Kambwala and Raphael Varane are all still unavailable. It was hoped that at least one or two of these players would return to fitness in time for the weekend.

Expected Return Date – Monday 6th May v Crystal Palace

Lisandro Martinez (calf) and Victor Lindelof (hamstring) are believed to be closing in on a return to fitness but they have yet to be seen in full training.

Martinez has been out since the 1-1 draw against Brentford. It was estimated that he would be back in action within a month. Lindelof hasn’t played since picking up an injury in the exact same game.

Expected Return Date – Sunday 12th May v Arsenal

Tyrell Malacia has been pictured in the gym as he continues his lengthy rehabilitation from knee surgery. The Dutchman hasn’t played at all this season, having had an operation last summer.

Anthony Martial is in light training. The forward has been sidelined since late January, having undergone surgery on a groin problem.

It was estimated that he would be out for 10 weeks but ten Hag says there are no guarantees that the forward will play again this campaign.

It is also touch and go whether Luke Shaw returns before the summer. The fullback is currently sidelined with a leg injury.
