Manchester United are ready to make a summer swoop for PSG midfielder Marco Verratti, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho is looking overhaul his midfield this summer after the retirement of Michael Carrick and imminent departure of Maruoane Fellaini – who has been linked with both West Ham and PSG themselves.

United are understood to have all but sealed a deal for Brazil international Fred, and Mourinho will now turn to Verratti as his second high profile addition of the summer.

Verratti, 25, has attracted attention from all over Europe with his dominant displays for the Ligue 1 champions over the past few seasons.

The Italian midfielder has made nearly 250 appearances for PSG over the last six seasons, helping guide them the Ligue 1 title in five of those years.

Reports sugguest United have already made contact with Verratti’s representatives, and have been told any move for the 25-year-old is likely to cost them in the region of £75 million.

Both Juventus and Barcelona are also understood to be interested in Verratti.
