Manchester United remain interested in signing Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, according to TuttoJuve.com.

The Italian website reports that the Frenchman is on the Red Devils’ radar, with the likes of Juventus, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Liverpool also keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.

It is believed that Chelsea are the ones most likely to sign Tchouameni at the moment, with manager Thomas Tuchel keen to strengthen his midfield.

Saul Niguez did not have a very promising debut against Aston Villa and, if the Blues choose to send him back to Atletico Madrid at the end of the season, Tchouameni could well be his replacement.

However, it is possible that United could make a move for the France international earlier than that. The Manchester club were thought to be interested in signing a new midfielder during the summer but were hampered by the fact that they were unable to offload some fringe players.

Plans are reportedly afoot to sell some deadwood in the January transfer window, and that could open up the possibility of signing Tchouameni. His reported valuation is €40m (£34m), which won’t be much of an issue for the Red Devils.
