United Have Tabled ‘Strongest Offer’ Worth 28.4M For Spanish International But Deal Looks To Be In Doubt

Manchester United have made the “strongest offer” to sign Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio, according to Cadena SER.

The Spanish radio station claims that the Red Devils have bid around €33m (£28.4m) for the Spanish international, who has less than a year left on his contract.

However, it appears that, despite Asensio’s current deal expiring at the end of the season, he is now likely to remain at the Bernabeu, with the player getting certain guarantees from manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The 26-year-old wants to be playing regularly ahead of the World Cup and, while he has not been guaranteed first-team football, Ancelotti has promised him that he will get the same game time or more than last season.

Asensio made 42 in all competitions for Real during the 2021/22 campaign but he has only played seven minutes since the start of August. It has been reported that both United and Arsenal were offered the player by his agent Jorge Mendes but it seems he won’t be moving before the transfer window shuts.
