United Have Made ‘Initial Enquiries’ About Signing 30M Rated Sancho Alternative

Manchester United have made “initial enquiries” with intermediaries of Watford winger Ismaila Sarr, according to the Independent.

The Red Devils are exploring alternatives after reaching an impasse in their negotiations to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. The club are refusing to match the England international’s €120m (£110m) asking price.

With that being the case, United, along with Liverpool, have been keeping tabs on Sarr. They believe he could be snapped up for a fee in the region of £30m, although it must be said that sources close to Watford have told local journalists that he is valued in excess of £40m.

Whatever the actual valuation, the Senegalese international may only cost a third of the price of Sancho, which would make him a very attractive proposition, considering he impressed for the Hornets during his first season in England.

Sarr scored six goals and contributed six assists in 30 appearances despite his team being relegated from the Premier League.
