United Have ‘Joined’ The Race To Sign Chelsea Star Who Is Available For 55M

Manchester United have “joined” Inter Milan in the battle to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to Tuttosport. The Italian newspaper claims that the Red Devils “could more easily” match the Blues’ asking price for the World Cup winner.

They say that the Frenchman is available for €60m (£55m) but Inter would first need to sell players in order to finance a move for the midfielder, leaving the way open for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to swoop in.

Reports in the English media this morning have suggested that the Nerazzurri have offered Christian Eriksen and Marcelo Brozovic in their previous offers for Kante, only for the bids to be rejected by Chelsea.

It is thought that manager Frank Lampard would prefer to sell Jorginho instead in order to fund their bid to sign West Ham’s Declan Rice but were United to table a significant bid for Kante, they may have to seriously consider the proposal.

Whether Tuttosport‘s reporting is accurate, though, we shall have to wait and see. It does seem like United’s transfer priorities lie elsewhere on the pitch.
