United Have ‘Intensified’ Talks ‘In Recent Hours’ To Sign 17M Rated La Liga Star, Ten Hag Is A Big Fan

Manchester United have “intensified” talks” with the representative of Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest “in recent hours”, according to Sport.

The Catalan newspaper claims manager Erik ten Hag is very much behind signing the player he worked with during his time at Ajax.

Dest is not a regular starter at the Camp Nou and, while the American international has been keen to stay in the past, when the likes of Chelsea enquired about his services, he is said to be more open to leaving Spain this summer.

Barca are only believed to be demanding around €20m (£17m) for the fullback, with the La Liga side looking to raise cash in order to register one of their new signings, Jules Kounde.

Recruiting a new right-back is one of ten Hag’s key priorities before the transfer window closes, especially if Aaron Wan-Bissaka is allowed to return to Crystal Palace. In addition to Dest, Monaco’s Vanderson is also reportedly being looked at as an option.
